Weekly Update: June 12th Return to Play Protocols

June 10

June 12, 2020

Dear BRYC Elite Families,

On June 9th our Governor announced that Northern Virginia has been cleared to enter Phase 2.  This is an important milestone because the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) has followed through on its commitment and issued field permits to all clubs with an effective date of Friday, June 12.  The importance of permits is they enable BRYC Elite Academy to control the use of our fields and the training environment.

While this is great news, we still have to be responsible in our approach in returning to play.  Phase 2 has specific requirements and guidelines that all clubs must follow to ensure the health and safety of their players, families, and staff.

BRYC Elite Academy is taking the necessary precautions to ensure a safe return to play by following the recommendations of the CDC, the State of Virginia, Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) and the ECNL.  We have published a comprehensive Return-to-Play Protocol, which is available at www.brycsoccer.com that outlines the phased approach that will lead us safely through the process of a controlled training environment all the way up to competitive play.

Each member of BRYC Elite Academy will be required to acknowledge they have read and understand the Return-to-Play Protocol and commit to adhere to the protocols established in the plan prior to attending any in-person team activities.  The acknowledgement process has been automated through the membership portal at www.brycsoccer.com.  A separate email with instructions will be sent in follow up to this announcement to help everyone through the acknowledgement process.

From a logistics perspective, our Directors of Coaching are working with their respective coaching staffs on schedules and training grids.  The immediate priority for our staff is to evaluate the players from outside the club who have expressed interest in BRYC Elite Academy and have been patiently waiting for an opportunity.  These players will be brought out first.  Once the tryout process is complete, our staff will finalize rosters.  It is important that we are deliberate and intentional in our approach considering the training group restrictions of Phase 2.

Please continue to enjoy this time with your family and stay safe.  We appreciate your continued patience and look forward to getting everyone back on the field.

Regards,

Mark Dolansky
