Cardamone returns in goal

Fairfax, Va -The Braddock Road Stars Elite are excited to announce the return of goalkeeper Tina Cardamone along with the addition of two new signees, Rose Chandler and Kelcie Macomber.  The three keepers will compete for minutes right away in goal for Braddock Road. 

Cardamone had two shutouts in six starts for the Stars Elite last season.  The goalkeeper made 16 saves while in goal in 2014 and had the team lowest goals against average.  The Oak Hill, VA native then redshirted her first season at the University of Iowa.

A member of the U-20 WNT, Chandler competed in the U-20 Women’s World Cup last summer in Canada for the U.S alongside teammates Carlyn Baldwin and Kaleigh Riehl.  As a freshman, the Atlanta, GA native redshirted the fall season at Penn State University.  The goalkeeper will be playing in her first W-League season with the Stars Elite.     

Current goalkeeper for the BRYC ’96 Elite team, Macomber will continue her soccer career at the University of Mary Washington in the fall.  Macomber will play for both the Braddock Road W-League and W-20 teams this summer.    

Braddock Road opens league play against Dayton this Friday, May 15, at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton, Ohio.  Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.  Fans who are unable to attend Friday’s game can follow on Twitter (@BRStarselite) for live game updates.
